Update the Global Address List (GAL) Exchange 2010
This process normally takes 24 hours for users to see new entries in the GAL. This is a way to force it to update.
From the Exchange Management Shell run the following commands.
Get-GlobalAddressList | Update-GlobalAddressList
Get-AddressList | Update-AddressList
Get-OfflineAddressBook | Update-OfflineAddressBook
Then restart the Microsoft Exchange File Distribution Service from the services.msc.
This should now allow users to update their offline address books if they are using cached exchange mode. They can do this with the following steps.
From Outlook 2010 click on File>Account Settings>Download Address Book
From the window that pops up.
Uncheck the "Download changes since last Send/Receive"
Select the "Full Details" Radio Button
Choose the correct address book and click ok.
This should start the update process for the Address Book and the users should be able to see the newly added entries.
